Major Topic:
Silicon enterprises to seek a way out under current financial crisis

Background and Contents:

In recent years, Poly-silicon, even the entire silicon industry has been developing rapidly bolstered by the fast expanding photovoltaic industry. However, global financial crisis triggered by American credit crunch has quickly spread to real economic sectors, and global silicon industry has also been badly attacked and experienced a severe shrinking demand and significant price decline.

Influenced by the bad performance in Chinese export, utilization ratio of elemental silicon and Silicone Material enterprises is very low. Especially the photovoltaic battery plants, which are the main users of high-purity silicon material, face with severe problems due to slack demand from overseas markets.

Focusing on hot issues within the industry, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, Sichuan Provincial People¨s Government and China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association will join hands to hold this industrial conference to cope with the current dilemma and analyze the industrial changes, in an attempt to seek a way out and better development after the crisis.
